Tennessee man arrested for DUI two nights in a row

by | Jun 7, 2018 | Drunk Driving

According to law enforcement authorities with the Blount County Sheriff’s Office, a man was arrested for DUI two nights in a row. The incidents happened on May 8 and May 9.

Deputies were called to the scene of an accident on May 8 on Tipton Hollow Road. When they arrived, they found a green van that had run off of the road and had struck a utility pole. Witnesses told the police that the driver appeared to be intoxicated. Officers found the driver outside of the van in a nearby yard leaning against an ATV. He told the officers that he had drank four beers throughout the day. He was taken into custody and submitted to a blood test. He was charged with driving on a suspended license and DUI.

The next night, deputies received a report of a domestic disturbance. The caller told the police that the man was drunk and was pounding on doors. The caller said that he had left in a truck. Officers were able to locate him and pulled him over. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI and driving on a revoked license. The man was reportedly aggressive during the second incident and banged his head on the partition in the police car.

Drunk driving may lead to multiple consequences if people are convicted. When people are convicted of subsequent offenses, the penalties may be harsher. People who are facing drunk driving charges might want to talk to experienced criminal defense lawyers who may be able to help their clients to negotiate plea offers to lesser offenses that carry reduced penalties.
